Talmadge, or Tali in the barn, is a just-turned-3-year-old gelding who raced twice before retiring, and he is already showing all the makings of a fantastic sport horse. Tali is truly the whole package! He is incredibly sweet, easy to handle, and has quickly become a favorite in the barn. He stands quietly in the crossties, enjoys being groomed, and has a kind, willing demeanor that makes him a pleasure to work with.

Under saddle, Talmadge has been a standout from the start. Watching him float across the ground when free jumping, we already know he is going to shine in the hunter ring! He moves beautifully, has a very easy natural lead change, and has already demonstrated his love and athleticism when it comes to jumping. He most recently has learned about connection and is starting to carry himself in the bridle and over his back. He is so smart, and each ride he picks up right where he left off from the previous ride. This horse is very talented and has a bright future ahead of him. In his most recent videos, we jumped him under saddle, and he proved to be a natural. Even though he is only 3, we can tell that he is going to make a fantastic show partner for someone. We have also hacked him all around the property, and he loves to “stop and smell the flowers” so to say. He is so quiet and easy going, we could see him making a great partner for anyone.

With his athleticism, movement, and overall presence, we see Talmadge excelling as a hunter prospect, with the potential to also succeed in the derby ring in the future. We recently put aluminum shoes on his front feet, he is up to date on all vaccinations an dental work, and is turned out in a group of geldings, though he has previous experience in a mixed herd.

Talmadge is an exciting young horse with a bright future ahead, and we look forward to continuing his development as he progresses in his training.
