This collector’s edition calendar is the seventh in a series that celebrates the legacy of one of the greatest racehorses of all time, Secretariat. The series is part of a research project by writer/photographer Patricia McQueen on Secretariat as a sire, which led to the 2023 publication of Secretariat’s Legacy, the only book about Secretariat’s influence as a stallion.

The 2024 calendar features Secrettame and her descendants:

Secrettame, Secretariat’s stakes-winning and stakes-producing daughter born in 1978.

Gone West, Secrettame’s first foal; the grade 1 Dwyer was among his stakes victories and he went on to become an important stallion.

Lion Cavern, the mare’s fifth foal; he was a stakes winner in England and the United States.

Elusive Quality, Gone West’s record-setting son who became the leading sire of 2004.

Speightstown, a champion son of Gone West who has been a top sire of stakes winners for almost two decades.

Da Hoss, a son of Gone West who won the 1996 and 1998 Breeders’ Cup Miles.

Came Home, a multiple grade 1 winner by Gone West who was one of the best runners of his generation.

Quality Road, a multiple grade 1 winner by Elusive Quality who continues the Gone West sire line.

Smarty Jones, a champion son of Elusive Quality who won the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness.

Union Rags, a top runner at two and three, including a Belmont Stakes victory; he is out of a Gone West mare.

Authentic, out of a mare by Gone West’s son Mr. Greeley; to date the only American Horse of the Year descending from Gone West.

Finally, there is a beautiful photo of the great Secretariat himself in the Kentucky Derby winner’s circle, courtesy of The Tony Leonard Collection.

This 12-month calendar runs from January 2024 through December 2024, and measures 12" wide and 18" tall when opened.

All profits from the sale of the calendar are shared by two important equine aftercare organizations: The Secretariat Center and Old Friends.
