2014 | 17h | Thoroughbred Gelding | Chestnut

(Elusive Quality - Zanazzi, by Bernardini)

”Chester” is a sweet and talented Thoroughbred gelding with a foundation in hunt seat and the potential to shine in the hunter or dressage ring with the right partner. He’s a nice mover with three quality gaits and has been started over cross rails in the past. Recently coming back into work after some time off for surgery (see below), he’s currently working at the walk and trot with both an adult and a junior rider.

Chester thrives in a consistent program with turnout and social time with other horses. While his temperament is generally mild-mannered and kind, he is a sensitive, opinionated type who does best with an experienced and patient rider. He’s the kind of horse that enjoys his job once he's in a routine—but does need a little reminder that it’s time to work!

He’s not currently in a formal training program, so he will need someone comfortable bringing a horse back into regular work. Chester would do best in a home where he can continue progressing with someone who has the time and desire to build a relationship with him.

Chester is up to date on all of his vaccinations.  He had his teeth floated and sheath cleaned in March of this year.  He is scheduled to get his hooves done again on May 21.  He has front shoes.

Surgery: Purdue in August of 2024, and had surgery for a bone sequestrum in his right hind hoof.  He has recovered 100% from this and will not be a problem in the future.  Purdue has cleared him.  He was on stall rest for 8 weeks and then on indoor turnout only until his hoof completely healed.
