Maker’s Mark Secretariat Center Ready for Kentucky Gives Day on April 9

The Maker’s Mark Secretariat Center is one of the hundreds of nonprofits participating in Kentucky Gives Day scheduled for April 9, 2014. Organized by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc. and presented by Baptist Health, Kentucky Gives Day is an innovative online fundraising event that encourages Kentuckians to donate as much money as possible in support of their favorite participating charities in just twenty-four hours.

“The MMSC makes a difference every day by providing an option for the many Thoroughbreds who are finished with their racing career and are ready to move on to another exciting chapter in their lives,” says Susanna Thomas, Director of the MMSC. “We are ready to partner with other nonprofits across Kentucky to see how much we can raise to serve our communities.”

Beginning at midnight EST on April 9 and continuing until 11:59pm EST, Kentuckians will go online to, connect with causes like the MMSC and make tax-deductible donations to support the important work of Kentucky charities. All online donations for the MMSC made on during Kentucky Gives Day will go directly to support the reschooling of Thoroughbreds for new careers beyond the racetrack.

“We saw the collective power of philanthropy with last year’s inaugural Kentucky Gives Day and we are excited to build on this success,” said Danielle Clore, executive director of the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc. “Nonprofits work to strengthen our communities and they need our support. I encourage all Kentuckians to go online on April 9 and become part of a historic day of generosity in our Commonwealth.”
