Legacy Horse Program

Legacy horses are rare jewels with the unique combination of conformation, athletic ability, brains, and a superb presence. Because these horses are so unusual, their higher adoption fee will pave the way for many other horses in the MMSC program that are not of the same caliber but that also deserve to be reschooled and rehomed.

Horses that reside on campus are matriculated into the Horse Centered ReSchooling Program℠ (HCRP). The HCRP was developed by MMSC Director, Susanna Thomas, a lifelong horsewoman and holistic thinker, It is based on the belief that to reschool a horse successfully and expeditiously,  its mind, body, and spirit all must be tended to with equal care. Learn more about the HCRP here.

Noble Horse Program

Noble horses are distinguished by three factors: 1) They are not located on the MMSC campus, 2) they have not been matriculated into the Horse Centered Reschooling Program and therefore have not received training from the MMSC, and 3) they may be compromised by age or former injury. But like our other horses, Noble horses will be adopted to approved adopters only and will be tracked for life. If you have a horse that you'd like to enroll in this program or if you'd like to help one of these horses, please contact us for details.
